My car has these stupid "magic" windshield wipers, they turn on and randomly swish off the window for no apparent reason. If they were smarter and only did it if the windshield needed it I might be more impressed but no, they just do it when ever. Drives me absolutely bat shit. It's not secret I don't care for my current car, there are a couple of cars that were mistakes. The Montero & the 626 come to mind first, there are others that were mistakes to get rid of. The Subie & the Pathfinder were definitely cars I should have kept. When I decided to trade in the Pathfinder it was b/c some butt head (you know who you are) convinced me gas was going to be like $5 bucks a gallon and having 2 gas guzzlers seemed like a bad idea, the Subie I had for 9 years. Yes 9 years. I thought it was time to get a different car. After trading in the Subie I have (on average) only had my cars 2-2.5 years before it's time to try another letter in the car alphabet. This spring I'll have had the Jetta for 3 years, it has been a long 3 years. I knew almost immediately it was a bad, bad choice. When I planned to get rid of the Pathfinder I was going to get another Subie, but I am highly impressionable when it comes to some things. And there is no such thing as "just looking at the cars on the lot" if I'm there it means I'm ready. I might go in knowing what I want but if they don't have it I can so be easily swayed. It's like a big neon sign only salesman can see that says "talk me into something I will hate" and well that's how I got a Jetta (thank God I was smart enough to veto the Saab, turbo no less). That's also how I paid way (way, way) too much for a digital camera when they first came out, all I really went to the office supply store for was printer ink. Yeah, yeah, they saw me coming. Eh, that's a whole other story. I was thinking there should be some kind of "Vehicle Club" like book of the month. Anyway, the point is, the next car will be a Subie, period. I know I like them, I had one for almost a freaking decade (I didn't even know cars would run that long). I already have it picked out, Legacy 2.5i (except I kind of like the Tribecca)in dark gray. Penance hopefully will pass fast.
