We've been planning on wrapping up this fun filled summer with a trip to see the final day of Speed Week (think The Worlds Fastest Indian movie). We started planing with Linda back in July, where we were planning on staying and checking the website for new stuff. Well, OK Linda & I talked about it, looked it up to find out more and decided it would be fun. Plan made, maybe not all the little details worked out but good to go. So we talk more and look at the website and talk/plan some more. Linda & family are going to stay in their toy hauler and we're going to stay at the Rainbow. On the way out Friday night there was a huge, monster storm we thought for just a minute it might impede the racing but then dismissed it. Collin was really excited to see the casino's. Collin & I walked around so he could see them and check out the cars that were still there while Mark played craps. Ate at one of the buffets, Collin had a couple of oysters (big ones!). The first one went down ok, the second not so much.

Got up the next day, met up with Linda got out to the salt flats- rained out!!! Hauling stuff off the salt, not even letting people on it. Bummer. Linda's family stayed and played for the rest of the weekend. We opted to come home but stopped at the old airport so Collin could see it. Very cool old airplane to climb in and sit in the pilots seat, museum to see, many old buildings and the flight control tower. Checked out the plane, the museum and climbed to the top of flight tower. We looked around doing the "ohh, ahh, tiny cars/planes" thing and Collin comments on being afraid of falling (I didn't even hear him) and guess what? Down the top flight of stairs on the tower I go, Mark said it was a "spectacular" fall. Essentially slid down the rails like a fireman does down the pole except I had a foot in the way. Tore the anterior something ligament on my left foot. Hurt like a bugger, holy freaking cow! Dr said would have hurt less and healed faster had I just broken it, and "oh yeah, your lucky you didn't just break it." Ok, so it hurts more & takes longer to heal but this is lucky? What????
This is me falling ;) This truck does 226 MPH!
